The trail is not well maintained and sometimes hard to follow. The trail to the falls begins after the Hanakoa stream crossing, just before the covered shelter on the Kalalau Trail

Very narrow and hilly trail and slippery. The waterfall trail is 6 miles off the beginning of the trail head and takes nearly all day total of 8 miles round trip.
