Description

a scenic, 3.8-mile out-and-back trail in Ansted, West Virginia, located within Hawks Nest State Park The highlight is Mill Creek Falls, which drops about 20 feet into a clear pool below. You’ll also pass smaller waterfalls and deep swimming holes along the way. The route goes by two old mine openings and leftover stone and metal pieces from the Mill Creek Colliery. Wildflowers bloom in spring, birds fill the trees, and deer are often seen near the water. The trail ends near the New River, or you can ride the Hawk’s Nest tramway back up the gorge.
